A proper introduction

Maybe you've already read something about it on Facebook or Instagram, I am the new owner of  Snailmailshop. For those who missed it, here is an introduction.

I am Sharon and I am 34 years old. I live together with my husband in the east of The Netherlands. Some of you might already know me from Pure Creations or

I love being creative and I also love snail mail. I love to receive beautiful personal mail in my mailbox. When I was about 7 or 8 years old, I already wrote letters to friends at school and when I was 11 years old, I had my first real penpal.

In 2016 I started my own webshop (Pure Creations). This webshop is all about creativity. You can buy whatever you need for snail mail, postcrossing and other crafts. Soon Pure Creations will be Snailmailshop as well.
Besides this I also have my own blog,, which is in Dutch by the way. And I recently started a new item on my blog with Astrid from Cardcetera. She came up with the idea to be blogfriends, so she writes blogs at my blog and I write blogs on hers. For now, that is also only in Dutch though.

Well and now I am also the owner of Snailmailshop and also of Snailmailmagazine. So I am going to write on this blog regular as well.

I am really looking forward to continue this shop and blog. At the moment I am busy with getting a lot of new ideas for this blog, getting new items for the shop (a lot of new items are already available, but there is still a lot more to come!) and a lot more.
I have a lot of ideas and plans, just follow me here, on Facebook and Instagram and don't miss a thing!

My bullet journal - 1

Sometimes my head is making over hours, with (almost) a full-time job, a family, a household and two webshops. Probably because of that I'm pretty good at forgetting things, which end up popping up in my mind in the middle of the night :(

Therefore I love making lists, which I then also forget (walking around in the grocery store without my shopping list) or even lose. Actually pretty sad :(
Time to organize, although...

Anyway I do want some peace and quiet in my mind and obviously it is necessary to write everything down in one place. So I was very interested in the phenomenon of "Bullet journal", I came across it the other day when browsing Pinterest and immediately searched for more information. Well you can find loads of information on the internet, many pictures of bullet journals, a lot of movies and I became more and more inspired. Still, I was not ready to go ..

Only when we were going about to sell these super cute personalized notebooks I got started. First, my lovely daughter made my notebook personal by drawing this quote on it and then I could finally get to work.

As I see a bullet journal it is a notebook that you are using as a kind of diary, but for me I will use it mainly as a storage medium for all kinds of things: to-do lists, but also birthday wish lists, a list of books I want to read, packing list for my  holiday and so on.

A couple of weeks ago I started..

As I mentioned before, I grabbed one of our "own" notebooks, apparently there are special bullet journals for sale, but I like to make it totally my own.

You number your pages and make an index page at the start of the journal. (Which of course you do not have to do the whole book all at once, I just do it the moment I'm going to use that page).

Next I made a monthly overview for the first half of 2016 and here I wrote some details; birthdays, holidays, special days ... Most bullet journals also have a list per month where the days are written in a vertical list, but I didn't see the use of that.

Then I also made an overview of the different icons with their meaning, a kind of legend.

The next pages show a weekly overview for my first week. Many examples on Pinterest show a weekly overview on 2 pages with the to do's / bullet points on each day. For me this is not convenient. I usually do a lot of things that do not necessarily have to be done on a particular day, it's just a list of things that need to be done. That is why I have chosen to make the weekly chart on the left page and then the bullet list on the other. I've been using the journal for 3 weeks now and I'm very happy with this setup.

Of course you can decide what you want to do and always adapt to what you think is fine. It's your journal and you're in charge :)

After the week view, I also added some lists, such as this example's wish list for my son's birthday. But also a list of when my shops may appear in the media or books I would like to read.

In my next blog, I will show you how I use the to-do lists to keep track of them and to create peace and quiet in my head...

Tip For more inspiration type the words "bullet journal" on Pinterest and you will find masses of examples.
